Guess what, more likely than not, you have all been guilty of doing\u00a0this too at some point in your life (whether you care to admit it or\u00a0not).<\/p>\n

The first thing you need to do is identify your desired goal.\u00a0If your goal is to build muscle, then you have come to the right place\u00a0and you should take a minute listen up.<\/p>\n

Here is what you need to know:<\/p>\n

Tension<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

\"muscle<\/a><\/p>\n

Muscles communicate in terms of tension.<\/p>\n

They have absolutely NO idea\u00a0how much weight you’re lifting. They only know how much tension or torque\u00a0is going through them.<\/p>\n

What if I told you there was a way to perform nearly ANY exercise\u00a0so that you could FEEL it EXACTLY where you’re supposed to feel it, AND\u00a0increase muscular tension with LESS weight to get results TWICE as fast\u00a0in half the time.<\/p>\n

Sounds pretty cool, right?<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll explain.<\/p>\n

YOU can control exactly how much tension or torque that goes through a\u00a0muscle you are working at ANY point in the workout.<\/p>\n

You have complete control over HOW HARD you squeeze, HOW LONG you work,\u00a0and most importantly EXACTLY WHERE you squeeze and contract.<\/p>\n

You can selectively train EXACTLY the muscle you’re supposed to be and\u00a0not train anything that you don\u2019t want to (or didn’t intend to).<\/p>\n

Every guy out there knows what I’m talking about. We’ve all done bench\u00a0presses and got NO pump in our chests but our delts and tris were\u00a0cooked!<\/p>\n

No more, gents!<\/p>\n

I would like to take this moment to introduce to you the revolutionary\u00a0muscle building technique called INTENT!<\/p>\n

Intent<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"muscle<\/a><\/p>\n

The way I describe intent to people I encounter that are unfamiliar\u00a0with it is this:<\/p>\n

\u201cIntent is the CONSCIOUS EFFORT to create TENSION in the muscle\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

I know, I know, sounds a little hokey.<\/p>\n

BUT the fact of the matter is\u00a0that this is BY FAR the best way to ensure you are maintaining tension on\u00a0the working muscle.<\/p>\n

The number one most highly correlated factor with building muscle is\u00a0\u201cTIME UNDER TENSION\u201d.<\/p>\n

The longer you can keep tension directly on a\u00a0muscle, the more you control the rate at which that muscle grows.<\/p>\n

You can do a bench press all day long, and if there is not tension in\u00a0the pecs, you WILL NOT build pecs.<\/p>\n

Why is it that some people can build great chests while bench pressing\u00a0while others cant?<\/p>\n

Because some people’s \u201cgenetics\u201d allow them to thoughtlessly keep a greater amount of tension in that muscle!<\/p>\n

We now have the ability to do this consciously. The best part is, IT’S\u00a0EASY!!<\/p>\n

I<\/span>NTENT in action.<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"muscle<\/a><\/p>\n

The most simple example of intent exists on the bench press.<\/p>\n

Grab on to the bar in front of you, just like you would on a bench press.<\/p>\n

You can use any stable surface for this example. I will use the edge of\u00a0my desk.<\/p>\n

I grab the edge of my desk about equally as wide as I would on a bench\u00a0press.<\/p>\n

Hold on firmly, and without letting your hands move from that position, \u201cshove\u201d them toward each other.<\/p>\n

What happened?\u00a0Your chest contracted didn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n

Now imagine doing this exact same thing through a range of motion, like in a\u00a0bench press.<\/p>\n

WOW! You just created continuous tension in the EXACT muscle you wanted\u00a0to! Pretty cool right!?<\/p>\n
