If you want to jump start building muscle these simple rules will get you the physique you’ve always desired.
1. Prepare your meals ahead of time. Preparation is key to success and keeps you away from bad habits. The best way that I’ve found to properly prepare meals is to make a trip to your local grocery store and buy some Tupperware. You are going to need these so that you can store all your meals in the fridge. When it’s time for a meal you already have it there. This preparation will also help you not to miss a meal especially when your going to be eating 5-6 meals a day. It’s crucial to consume all your daily calories for a steady stream of nutrients. Speaking of nutrients, eat protein with every meal. While you are at the grocery store look to buy in bulk. This will save you money and time from going to the store all the time.
2. Make time in your schedule to work out at least 4 days a week. You have to actually workout to build muscle you know. Does it matter when you go? No just get your workout in there. You don’t need to spend hours and hours in the gym either. Get in and get out with short and effective workouts. Also set goals for yourself. Not setting goals leads to just “winging it.” Write your goals down whatever that maybe. Follow it, then execute.
3. Make sure to get most of your caloric intake pre and post workout. If you have your meals already prepared then this point will serve you very well. This is a crucial time when your body needs the most fuel, pre and post workout. Eat a protein/complex carb 1 hour before you train. Have all your shakes with you at the gym. 1 pre workout, 1 high carb drink with aminos, and lastly your protein shake.
4. Get a coach that has been there and done that for advice. Find Simone that knows more than you and looks the part. They are a wealth of knowledge and can point you in the right direction. Make sure to find someone that is going to challenge you.
